The statue is without attributes, but is easily identified by its context: Anne and Joachim flank the statue of the Virgin Mary as Immaculate Conception (shown below). The parents were often pictured in Renaissance images of the Immaculate Conception (Ekserdjian, 243-52).

The Immaculate Conception retable is in the south transept of the cathedral. The central statue is the Virgin Mary as Immaculate Conception, with statues of SS. Joachim and Anne to her left and right, St. Joseph and God the Father above her.
